I asked our favorite beauty fairies what’s in and what’s out for the year of 2024. Read on for make up trends, wellness resolutions and inspiring straight from their feeds.

Asja @asjaredolfi_makeup

“Definitely let myself be less influenced by social media and try to use fewer skincare products. I’ve noticed that my skin reacts badly to constant changes. And to drink water for sure.”

Marika @Leitalienne

“My beauty resolution for this year is to stick to Mandelic Acid and vitamin E! Vitamin E is so underrated. I think I want to try more facial massage this year. And also experience a Korean spa for hair and scalp!”

Alice @Alicemaggioni

“In my 2024 skincare routine should I be considering retinol? It is time, I need to brave myself and do it. I just need to be careful and add it slowly. I also need to keep up with yoga, my makeup artist’s back pain is asking for it.”

Our picks: If the closest to Seoul you ever will be this year is on your vision board, pop into MiiN Korean Cosmetics in Milan. For a bit of stretching ID Studio is cute, also in Milan.

Upcoming trends & bold aesthetic
As a true millennial , my experiments with beauty are buried along with my old facebook account. To stay on trend I have gone as far as parting my hair in the middle, but our Espressoh girls are more adventurous.

Marika
“The look I would like to try is violet eyeshadow and a bold, glossy black overlip.

I am tired of no make-up make up look. I want to go out with bare skin or with the weirdest full face, no in-between!”

Alice
“My main focus this year is to experiment with makeup and explore more creative looks on myself and in my jobs. I am drawn to metallic lips (the Ciao discOh eyeshadows are perfect to add on top of your lipstick of choice) and 60s elaborated liners (hello Priscilla! She would have loved Hi Liner back in those days).

As for 2024 trends, I have been seeing monocromatic makeup looks having a moment: I have tried this trend out on myself and used Bohlmy to spice it up. The texture of the aroma lipsticks is perfect to use on both lips and cheeks and I have sometimes used them on my eyelids as well. You can recreate the monocromatic look using one lipstick for everything.”

Asja

“I have to say that my social networks are divided between YK makeup, therefore 2000s vibes, and 90’s grunge-after-party models. Personally, I am quite enthusiastic about both of these trends. As a makeup artist, one purpose is certainly to experiment more.

I really love clean girl makeup but by doing it every day at work I always hope that fashion changes and gives me more opportunity to vent.

At the beginning of 2024 I saw the return of the messy grunge 90s model makeup. With a strong look on the eyes you have to balance the rest of the face well. I think that Glassy is perfect for creating the right balance, and the Intenso mascara to give depth to the look by making the “cat” effect and never the “panda”.”

Our picks: Ciao Discoh and bold eyeliner

Say Goodbye to…

Asja

“Definitely the return of thin eyebrows! Please, it was a mistake that must remain in the 2000s and never return.”

Marika

“I am seeing bows everywhere! On hair, make up, clothes. I am already bored of it!”

Alice

“Let’s leave instant face tape lifting back in 2023, please. Unless you are doing an artistic editorial where you need a specific creative look, you don’t need it. I am so tired of it filling up my IG algorithm.”
