Working in the industry I spend a lot of time researching both make-up and skin-care formulas, I try to stay on top of new products on the market, but at the same time I make very conscious choices of what to buy and try so I do not overload my shelf with unused products, first because I want to avoid waste and second because I care about my skin!

Here below my current favourites for this season, some new stuff, some old time fav, some lab samples, some industry insider digressions. Enjoy!

CLEANSING 🧼

Cleansing, the first step of every skincare routine (or at least it should be).

AM: I rinse my face with water, as easy as that! It’s not free but it’s cheap!

PM: As my skin is recovering from a bad break-out I am back on using Ohily as make-up remover, I can’t tell you how good this formula is, and I think people should talk about it more (if you are an Ohily lover drop a review pls). Every person I talk to who has tried Ohily swears by its magic and wouldn’t switch it out for anything else.

I usually double cleanse with a gel cleanser and CeraVe is an old time favorite, even though I am liking Sofie Pavitt one very much (also much more expensive $$$). Ps. Sofie Pavitt only ships to the US.

HYDRATING 💦

Let’s face it, the 9 steps skincare is finally outdated (and planet Earth is very happy about it) and essentialism has taken over. Cleanse + treat + moisturize + protect. I am not going to talk about the treat step as it really depends on different skin types, so I’ll just focus on #1 skin need here.

As you can see I am testing some lab samples for eye cream and moisturizing 🤓

I bought a Hyaluronic Acid serum in London from this brand called Zelens, it is an okay serum but definitely not worth the 70£ I paid for it and wow the glass bottle is heavy (hey there “sustainability”).

I am also liking the Rhode Milky Essence even though it is still too rich for my skin to be used as a serum, so I think I am going to use it on its own as a light moisturizer.

MAKEUP 💄

This is my make-up kit these days, I really try to be minimal even though I own this brand but honestly this is all I use so there is no reason for me to waste products and carry unused stuff around.

For my base I like mixing Dewy Latte with ABC Concealer (I am shade 0.5) and apply with a brush all over face , then spot conceal with ABC Concealer to cover stubborn dark spots and under eyes.

For my cheeks I have two go-to combos and I alternate depending on my mood: Oh.SoleMio Blush 7PM+ Moonlight Pink and Oh.SoleMio Bronzer 8AM + Glassy

Hey Broh and Intenso Mascara Moka on the eyes.

Bohlmy or Aroma Light confettOh on lips but I always carry a red lipstick (Aroma in Pummarò) because you never know.

BODY CARE 🧴

The Glossier Oil Body Wash is my absolute favorite, I love both the texture and the smell, the only downside is the price: a bit expensive for an everyday use but hey I gotta splurge on something here!

The body lotion is okay too but I have tried better ones!

SPF ☀️

I would love to be able to recommend you a facial SPF but I haven’t found one to fall in love for yet.

Mineral filters or Chemical filters? (Do you even know what I am talking about?).

I definitely tend to use SPF that only contains chemical filters as they are latest generation UV filters, lighter on skin and more advanced, mineral SPF will clog my skin and make me break out! It’s sad to notice that the beauty industry is heavily dominated by American brands who are only allowed to use outdated UV filters in their formulas (because of their regulations) so I do not even consider buying most of the SPF creams out there.

In the meanwhile this Garnier body SPF is chef kiss, I have been using it for the last couple of years, it’s very light on skin, hydrating, and very effective, oh and it is cheap ☺
